The origins of Vennard's commitment to the ministry of childcare. |

| CEI was founded in Chicago in 1910. One year later, Dr. Vennard established a community center, including daycare for the children of immigrant factory workers. That ministry carried on in Chicago after the college moved to Iowa. At the University Park campus, the program transitioned to providing kindergarten, then preschool, and then preschool and daycare. Since 1911, our college continued Dr. Vennard's commitment to the ministry of being of service. |

Kiddie Kollege Timeline
1951 |
| C.E.I. at the new University Park location established a community center, including Kindergarten. Classrooms were in the ground floor of the Men's Dorm. |

1964 |
| The kindergarten program transitioned to preschool, and expanded, adding daycare. |
 |
1968 |
Having outgrown the Men's Dorm location, Kiddie Kollege moves into it's new building, licensed for 111 children per day. |

1972 |
| Within 4 years Kiddie Kollege was at full enrollment, with waiting lists. And addition was built, increasing the licensed capacity to 175 children per day. Kiddie Kollege was the model daycare for the State of Iowa. New daycare and preschools were advised to visit Kiddie Kollege and it's director Sue Harris. |
